A few more images have popped up from the Guldbaggegalan 2019. Not nearly as many as I would have liked but hopefully there will be more.
If you are in the mood to watch the entire awards show you can do so for a limited time on the SVT website. It’s only available in Swedish with Swedish subtitles as an option.
They’re fabulous, they’re dramatic, and quite frankly they are a hot mess! Alexandra Dahlström has posted a teaser for her secret project Chateau Majorica on Vimeo.
It’s going to be released as a 12-part web TV series and it will star: Petter Köhler, Lisa Pyk Wirstöm & Alexandra Dahlström.
I’m beyond excited for this and I really hope it’s going to have some English subtitles available! I’ve been learning Swedish the past couple months but I’m still in the very basic stages.
Here is a synopsis translated from Alexandra’s Vimeo page:
LUDDAN & MAJO
A web TV series in 12 parts starring Petter Köhler, Lisa Pyk Wirstöm & Alexandra Dahlström
Luddan & Majo is a surreal sitcom about two lost red wine boozers living in a universe somewhere between Nivå 22 (restaurant) and the Grand Hôtel. A slippery, self-proclaimed astrologer and a faded, Russian diva actress who burned her last bridge long ago. Together they embark on an incredible and often semi-criminal adventure.
With them on their runaway train is Saffran, a young man with a good conscience. He holds up Luddan and Majo’s hair when they’ve finished off the last bottle of red wine and sweeps up the broken shards of glass after derailed evenings lined with magic, romance and moral decay.
In Chateau Majorica these three broken but hopeful souls seek shelter together and create their own reality. In a parallel universe chalk full of mystery, drama and sex, they live out every day of their lives as a hysterical soap opera – the eternal search for dreams, identity and belonging.
Majorica is a luxurious and lively bohemian. She lives in a universe lined with magic and mystery and her inner revelations lead her through life. She is a self-appointed astrologer and divine medium. She does not hesitate to share her knowledge with gorgeous men in her cosmopolitan temple over a bottle of red wine. Majo once burned out in the fashion industry and then avoided the darkness of working life. She is convinced that she has a more important task here on earth. However, she is usually too drunk to make sense of it.
Lyudmila is a violently successfully actress and a rare beauty if she does say so herself. If someone asks, she is 21 years old. In a previous life, she was a successful CEO in a multinational conglomerate, but she felt that the world needed to get to know her artistic eagerness. She is a misunderstood star and is convinced that her breakthrough is just delayed. She lives constantly in the role of the life threatening, Russian femme fatal. Everything is an action film for her, even her catastrophic romances that she rushes into full force.
Saffran is a 26 year old with no gender identity whose main pursuit in life is to save Luddan and Majo from falling into the valley of death. He grew up in Chile with a melodramatic mother who blamed all her failures on him. At the age of six, Saffran was adopted by a rich upper-class couple in Stockholm and was kept in a broom closet in the basement. A few years ago, he ran into Luddan and Majo and continued his career as a compassionate and subdued Cinderella. He dreams of one day getting on stage and singing his heart out.
The 50th Annual Guldbagge awards ceremony took place January 26, 2015 at Cirkus in Sweden. Some photos have already started popping up! Alexandra is looking gorgeous as always! And if you agree, you can vote for her here!
Edit: Added more photos found by Fish and myself!
I’ve managed to get my hands on a copy of the episode of S:t Mikael guest starring Alexandra Dahlström! It aired in 1998 so it’s another blast from the past! You can find all of Alexandra’s clips here.
I present you with a little holiday treat! Here are Alexandra Dahlström’s segments from a 2004 show on SVT called Bokbussen. From what I gather, it’s a bus that goes around Sweden and surrounding areas to discuss literary works with authors and other interesting individuals. This particular episode aired December 9, 2004 and focused on literary works with religious themes. Only language available is Swedish and no English subtitles but still nice!
I was searching for something Alexandra related when I learned something new. Alexandra appeared in an episode of a TV show called Mamma, det är en kändis i köket (translation: Mom, There’s a Celebrity in our Kitchen) as herself. It’s a reality TV series that lasted 2 seasons where people would want to meet a certain celebrity so the show would send that celebrity to their home. In season 2, episode 4 a girl named Liza wanted to meet Alexandra Dahlström as she would like advice on becoming an actress.
It aired on ZTV and there are 2 full episodes posted on YouTube but sadly, not the episode featuring Alexandra. Maybe someday!
I also learned that Carolina Gynning (Alexandra’s co-star in Blondie) was featured in an episode where she meets a young woman who admits she had suffered from anorexia. I haven’t been able to track down that episode either.
Here’s a link to the production company La Vida Locash.
I spent my afternoon watching videos of Sen kväll med Luuk from back in 2004 in hopes of seeing Alexandra as Luuk’s DJ and sidekick. Well I had some success! There were some short but fun clips I was able to gather and they are the first videos that are available in the video gallery.
The entire finale of Luuk’s show is posted on YouTube and you can catch Alexandra in the background throughout but mostly it’s blurry or far away. If you’re interested it’s posted here and runs for about 45 minutes. There’s also a “Best Of” video but I didn’t catch Alexandra in that one.
Let me tell you between watching the videos and editing them down – I totally have Luuk’s theme song stuck in my head.
